Sky Sports understands Swindon Town have agreed a deal to sign Barnsley defender Jay McEveley.
The former Everton and Blackburn man is set to join the League Two leaders on loan until the end of the season.
McEveley, who joined Barnsley in the summer of 2010, has found himself down the pecking order at Oakwell this term.
Tykes boss Keith Hill is happy to let McEveley depart as he feels he has enough cover at left-back and Robins chief Paolo Di Canio has moved to bring in the player to bolster his options.
The 26-year-old is expected to go straight into the Swindon squad for this weekend's Johnstone's Paint Trophy final at Wembley against Chesterfield.
