Derby County manager Nigel Clough has played down reports he is planning a bid to sign Everton striker Conor McAleny in the summer.
McAleny is out of contract at Goodison Park at the end of the season and reports have claimed that the 19-year-old has failed to agree a new deal.
He is reportedly looking to leave Everton in search of greater first-team opportunities and has been linked with Championship duo Derby and Southampton.
However, Clough has brushed off speculation that he wants to add the forward to his squad for next season.
"That's a new one on me," said Clough in the Derby Evening Telegraph regarding the rumours.
McAleny has made two substitute appearances for Everton in the Premier League this season after featuring against Arsenal and Norwich City in December.
