Joe Hart claims Manchester City can take positives from their Europa League exit, with their focus now locked on the Premier League title.
The Blues surprisingly slipped out of continental competition on Thursday, with a disjointed showing against Sporting Lisbon seeing them fall at the last-16 stage.
City were able to pick up a 3-2 win on the night, but a first leg defeat and a disappointing opening to the return date saw them tumble out on the away goals rule.
Hart came agonisingly close to snatching the most dramatic of goals for City as they pressed for a late fourth at the Etihad Stadium, but he was left to reflect on what might have been at the final whistle.
"I can't believe it, I thought it was in," Hart told ESPN.
"It didn't need to get to that, but football is football. The fans were fantastic tonight and we didn't give them what they deserved in the first half.
"Hopefully we can take some positives out of the second half and move on for the rest of the season."
Hart conceded that City were far from their best during the first 45 minutes against Sporting, but was pleased with their second-half response and admits they need to maintain those levels over the coming weeks - with Manchester United having edged a point clear at the top of the Premier League table.
"We need to play well in every game," Hart added.
"There are not many left now. We've cost ourselves with the first half but if we keep rolling now we'll be all right.
"We're one point behind the leaders of the Premier League, we're a good team and we've got nothing to worry about. We'll go in (against Chelsea next Wednesday) as favourites and we should be favourites."
Kolo Toure is also looking for City to bounce back against Chelsea in their next league outing, with it important that the Blues do no dwell on their European disappointment.
"It was important to win this game and go through, but now we need to keep our heads up," he said.
"We have a really important game coming up on Wednesday against Chelsea and we have to give it all.
"For Man City now every trophy is very important so when we go out like that, it is always very difficult, but now we just need to think about the future. The past is the past."
