Reading manager Brian McDermott is staying tight-lipped on speculation Portsmouth midfielder Hayden Mullins is set to move to the Madejski Stadium on loan.
Mullins is set to become the latest player to leave cash-strapped Pompey, with Liam Lawrence having already joined Cardiff City and Erik Huseklepp moving to Birmingham City.
Goalkeeper Stephen Henderson is on his way to West Ham United on loan and Mullins has also been tipped to join a club challenging for promotion.
The 32-year-old was left out of Portsmouth's defeat at Brighton & Hove Albion last weekend in order to consider a loan move to a rival Championship club.
Reports have claimed that Reading are the club trying to sign Mullins and are hoping to finalise a deal before Saturday's game against Barnsley.
However, speaking after Tuesday evening's 1-1 draw at Doncaster Rovers, McDermott offered a cryptic response when asked about Mullins.
McDermott said: "There are always suggestions. Watch this space."
