Macclesfield manager Gary Simpson is delighted with the way on-loan Bolton defender Mark Connolly has settled into life in League Two.
The Silkmen were on a run of nine consecutive defeats when Connolly joined amid an injury crisis last month.
The 20-year-old, who has not made a first-team appearance for Bolton despite joining from Wolves for £1million in 2009, is yet to finish on the losing side for Macc in five successive draws.
"He just needed a bit of league football I suppose," Simpson said.
"He's a whole-hearted player with great attributes and he's done very well for us. He's filled in and plugged some holes.
"At one stage we only had two defenders fit so we needed to get someone in and he was up for the task. He's acquitted himself very well."
