Cheick Tiote: Alan Pardew hopeful midfielder will be fit to face Norwich on Sunday
Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew is hoping key midfielder Cheick Tiote will be fit to face Norwich City on Sunday.
The Ivory Coast international hobbled out of Monday's last-gasp 2-1 defeat by Arsenal at Emirates Stadium late on in the contest.
Newcastle recalled Haris Vuckic from his loan spell at Cardiff City and he was on the bench against Arsene Wenger's men.
However, Pardew is quietly confident his first-choice midfielder will be available to face the Canaries, believing his knock was a bit of cramp.
Hopeful
"Cheick had cramp," Pardew told the Evening Chronicle.
"We had no subs left, and we were losing bodies. Demba Ba, for example, could hardly move.
"We're just hoping it was a bit of cramp."
