Midfielder Zdravko Kuzmanovic would consider leaving Stuttgart if they fail to qualify for Europe.
The Serbia international's contract does not expire until the summer of 2013, but he has been linked with Italian giants Juventus and AC Milan.
And with Stuttgart, who last season just avoided relegation by two points, only sitting eighth in the Bundesliga, Kuzmanovic has indicated an improvement is needed.
Kuzmanovic told Bild: "If we would be able to play in the Europa League next season, this would be a fine achievement.
"For me personally, this is in an important factor. If we play in Europe next season, I would be able to imagine staying on at this club.
"You have to say that not playing in a European club competition for two years in a row is a tough thing to accept."
