Defender knows composure is key in title race

Micah Richards would 'love' to see Carlos Tevez return and fire Manchester City to the Premier League title. Former captain Tevez has returned to training with his club after apologising for going absent without leave in the wake of September's much-publicised bust-up with Roberto Mancini. And with City struggling for goals and suffering defeat on Sunday at Swansea to be overtaken at the top of the table by Manchester United, Richards thinks Tevez could add a welcome spark. "I have always been a big fan of Tevez, I love him," said the full-back. "There were games last season where he carried us on his own and in these sort of games he would get a 1-0 win for us.

Mental strength

"It's up to the manager ultimately, but I would love to see him back." The defeat at the Liberty Stadium was a second consecutive failure to find the net for City following the midweek Europa League loss to Sporting Lisbon. And while Richards, who had a late header ruled out for offside, insists Mancini's side have the mental strength to bounce back, he knows they need to find their shooting boots. "We have to take every game as it comes. We need to go back and see where we went wrong here and why we are not scoring as many goals as we used to," he said. "Teams are defending better against us. At the start of the season, we were scoring, four, five or six goals a game. "But in the last two games we have not hit the net and it is something we want to look at and improve on in next couple of games."
