Blaise Matuidi is enjoying his first taste of title chasing and is determined to help Paris St Germain get their hands on the Ligue 1 crown.
The capital giants have spent big in their pursuit of domestic success, with the club's Qatari owners determined to return PSG to the pinnacle of French football.
Carlo Ancelotti has taken the club to the top of the table, with an 11-match unbeaten run seeing them into pole position.
Matuidi is confident they can cling onto their lofty perch, with a number of their title rivals having slipped off the pace.
Montpellier remain very much in the hunt for top flight supremacy, but PSG are confident they can prevail in what is fast becoming a two-horse race.
"The race is on now," Matuidi told Sky Sports.
"We have enjoyed a good week, returning to the top of the table and putting distance between ourselves and the likes of Lille, St Etienne, Lyon and Marseille.
"Montpellier are making the race very exciting and we will fight with them to finish in first place.
"The race is fantastic and this is the first time I have been in a position to challenge for the title.
"It is in our hands because we are top of the league and ready to fight until the end."
