Baggies man acknowledged for third time after rediscovering form

West Brom striker Peter Odemwingie has been named Premier League player of the month for February. The Nigeria international is enjoying his best form of the season after contributing five goals in his last two games for the Baggies. It is the third time the striker has scooped the award, having picked it up in September and April last term on his debut campaign in England. He told the Baggies' official website: "This award in particular is one the team deserve because we have scored so many goals. "It is totally deserved and if I could share it into pieces and give each player his own piece I would.

Turnaround

"I'm very happy to have won. "The season did not start so good for me but now things seem to have turned around for me and the team and I'm very happy." Odemwingie had only scored four times in the league this term prior to Albion's trip to Wolves on February 12th but reopened his account in stunning form by notching a hat-trick to inspire a 5-1 triumph. The striker then followed up that display with a brace at home to Sunderland last weekend as West Brom cruised past the Black Cats 4-0. Those victories have lifted West Brom to 13th in the Premier League and 11 points clear of the drop zone as Roy Hodgson's men turn their attention to finishing inside the top 10. Odemwingie, who will host Chelsea with the Baggies on Saturday, is now on course to better his record of 15 league goals last season.
