Norwich boss not concerned by Grant Holt's international future

Paul Lambert admits he is not concerned over Grant Holt's international career, as long as he continues to deliver for Norwich. The Canaries front man has been linked with a call-up to the national squad after scoring 12 goals in 27 appearances this season. His strike against Manchester United last weekend means, along with Swansea's Danny Graham and after Wayne Rooney, he is the second top English scorer in the Premier League. England are still looking for a replacement for Rooney for the opening two games of Euro 2012, with the Manchester United forward suspended. Danny Welbeck and Fraizer Campbell were given a chance against Holland in midweek and Holt's form may also be taken into consideration. But manager Lambert admits he is only concerned about the 30-year-old's form at Norwich.

Ask the people in charge

He said: "You would have to ask the people in charge (at England), but it is not something I am going to lose sleep over. I never think about it. "If people want to pick him for his country, then it would be great for Grant, but I can't influence anybody's judgement. "The next England manager I am sure will have his own players to pick, but I only concern myself with Norwich, Grant, or any of the lads who are in contention for anything, that is my main concern. "If they do get picked, the brilliant for them, if they don't then as long as they keep doing what they are for me, then I am more than happy."
