Celtic striker Anthony Stokes has revealed he would love to be recalled to Republic of Ireland's squad.
The in-form 23-year-old has been frozen out of head coach Giovanni Trapattoni's plans after pulling out of last summer's Carling Nations Cup.
Stokes has been among the goals for Celtic this term, prompting manager Neil Lennon to say that the forward's fine displays cannot be 'ignored'.
The former Hibernian man has won four caps for his country and is eager to play to add to his tally, although for now he remains focused on Celtic.
"I always love to play for my country and I hope one day in the near future I might do that again," he said.
"But I'm happy with my club form at the minute.
"I just want to keep playing as well as I possibly can and hopefully that call will come."
