MK Dons boss Karl Robinson is targeting Tottenham midfielder David Bentley to boost the Dons' promotion push.
Bentley is a close friend of Robinson's, sharing the same agent, and the former England international would join Newcastle's Alan Smith at Stadium MK if a loan deal could be agreed.
"He knows I want him here, but he's injured for another four weeks, so we'll see," Robinson told MK News.
"It helps when you have the same agent, but it's got to be something that works for Tottenham.
"Maybe the lure might be that if we are in the play-offs, he'll get some extra games.
"He's just a gifted footballer. Maybe people will say he's lost his way a little, but I think people have the completely wrong perception of him - he's so talented."
