Former Southend favourite Paul Clark has branded Bilel Mohsni an "idiot" after the Frenchman's latest outburst.
The eccentric Mohsni requested he be substituted during the game against Morecambe and then refused to shake the hand of his replacement as he left the pitch. Not content, he then became engaged in a row with a home supporter before storming out of the ground and home on the train.
"It's a tricky one for Paul (Sturrock, manager), but for me personally I think Bilel has been an idiot and gone too far this time," Clark told the Echo. "If I was Paul I would speak to the senior players and see what they think about Bilel. If they think he's a bad influence on things then he should get shot of him.
"However, if they think he can still be relied upon then discipline him and get on with it."
Clark feels Mohsni's talent is not in question, but that the versatile winger does not have the mental toughness to make him any better than a pub player.
"Bilel has loads of ability but plenty of people in pubs and clubs have too," he added. "To be a professional you have to have the full package and the six inches between the ears matter most. If you keep on letting him get away with things then it also sets a bad example to other players."
