Crystal Palace full-back Lee Hills is on trial with Southend as he looks to make his return to full-flight action.
The 21-year-old has been sidelined for almost two years with knee problems but is now fit again and played for Palace's reserves last week. Hills has been added to the Southend reserves squad for a friendly against Braintree on Tuesday night. He could be set for a loan spell away from Palace in a bid to build up his match fitness.
