Oastler wants Gulls fans belief

Joe Oastler has urged Torquay's fans to maintain their belief in the club's ability to secure promotion this season.

The Gulls currently occupy a play-off spot in League Two, defying pre-season predictions of mid-table mediocrity, and Oastler has praised supporters for their work in helping propel United into the promotion picture. But with the term entering its business end the full-back has asked the Plainmoor crowd not to give up hope of a grandstand finish to the campaign - whatever happens over the next three months. "The fans have been outstanding all season. Even when we were losing a few games in a row they were singing for the whole 90 minutes and they've been like a 12th man for us," he said. "But we can't just get to where we are now and then expect to be turning teams over, it doesn't happen like that. "Everyone's got to believe and if not, it won't happen."
