St Mirren have revealed that defender Marc McAusland suffered a fractured eye socket during Saturday's 1-1 draw with Aberdeen.

Centre-half McAusland, 23, could now face several weeks on the sidelines after suffering the injury in an aerial challenge before being taken off at half-time.

Manager Danny Lennon told the club's official website: "Marc has a fracture in his eye socket.

"He will see a specialist on Wednesday to see how we move forward with things.

"Until Marc sees the specialist, we have no idea of the timescale involved for him to get back to full fitness."

Saints were already set to be without left-back Jeroen Tesselaar for up to six weeks and Lennon revealed the Dutchman would undergo knee surgery on Monday.
