Tomas Rosicky has been forced out of the Czech Republic squad to face the Republic of Ireland on Wednesday due to injury.

A back strain has ruled the Czech skipper out of friendly

Tomas Rosicky has been forced out of the Czech Republic squad to face the Republic of Ireland on Wednesday after picking up an injury in the thrilling North London derby on Sunday. The 31-year-old capped an impressive display in Arsenal's superb fightback against rivals Tottenham with his first goal in over two years. But a back strain means the Czech skipper has had to pull out of the squad for the friendly in Dublin and will be replaced by Liberec midfielder Jiri Stajner. "Tomas Rosicky played an excellent match against Tottenham, according to manager Michal Bilek, but at the end of it he had to have an examination for an injured back which does not allow him to take part in the game on Wednesday against Ireland," Czech team spokesman Jaroslav Kolar said.
