Oastler eyes promotion spots

Torquay United have their eyes set on a top-three finish in League Two, according to Joe Oastler.

The full-back insists the Gulls, whose seven-match winning streak came to an end with defeat to Bradford last Saturday, have the quality and momentum to claim an automatic promotion slot. Three months ago Oastler's suggestion would have been deemed ludicrous but the 21-year-old is confident the Devon club's sensational run of form has set them up for a grandstand finish to the campaign. "There's no reason why we shouldn't aim for the top three. There's a reason why we're up there at the moment and we need to keep it going," he said. "We've got a tough fixture list in February and a lot of big games are coming our way and if we can keep in touch through the next few matches then we've got a great chance. "The team is all still together and we've been grinding out results where perhaps we haven't been playing so well and we need to keep doing that. The top three is definitely something we can do. We're looking up, not down, that's for sure."
