Pompey forced to offload Norwegian ace

Birmingham have completed the loan signing of Erik Huseklepp from struggling Portsmouth. Portsmouth have been forced to offload Huseklepp to help ease their financial problems following their move into administration. Huseklepp moves to Birmingham on a three-month loan deal, which runs until the end of May and effectively covers the rest of the season, including any potential play-off fixtures, with a view to a permanent deal. The 27-year-old's departure is the latest measure of Portsmouth's cost-cutting exercise as they look to trim their wage bill. Huseklepp's arrival at St Andrew's will boost Chris Hughton's attacking options with injuries to Nikola Zigic and Marlon King leaving Adam Rooney as the club's only fit recognised striker in recent matches.
