David Pizarro is delighted with his "fantastic" start to life at Manchester City and believes he can contribute to the team's success.
The Chilean midfielder, signed on loan from Roma on last month's transfer deadline day, caught the eye with a goalscoring cameo in Wednesday's 4-0 hammering of Porto in the Europa League.
The 32-year-old, who was making his second appearance for the club, also provided an assist for David Silva in a sparkling display after coming on with just 10 minutes remaining.
And Pizarro told Manchester City's official website: "I am very happy because it was an important game.
"There are games when everything goes well and this was one of those games. It went well for me and also for the team.
"The team have been excellent, they have made me very welcome and Manchester has also been fantastic, so everything is going well. The fans have made me feel very welcome, I had that feeling straight away when I started.
"I know that I can also contribute to them so both parties are very happy."
City boss Roberto Mancini knows Pizarro from their time together at Inter and believes the experienced playmaker could be a useful addition to the squad as they chase glory in the Premier League and in Europe.
"I am happy for him, for Pizarro," said Mancini. "I think he is a high-quality player and he could be a good option for us in the next two months."
