Crawley boss reveals Reading turned down last minute deal
Crawley Town boss Steve Evans has revealed the club had a deadline day bid for Reading striker Mathieu Manset rejected.
The 22-year-old has scored just five times for the Royals in 30 appearances since arriving from Hereford just over a year ago.
And with the arrival of Jason Roberts from Blackburn in January, Manset will find first-team chances at the Madejski Stadium limited further.
Evans told the Reading Evening Post: "We made a written offer for Mathieu Manset at Reading, but we could not agree a fee with them.
"I will add that Reading conducted their business very professionally indeed."
