Daniel Majstorovic: Celtic to appeal the defender's straight red card
Celtic have launched an appeal to the Scottish Football Association in an attempt to get Daniel Majstorovic's red card rescinded.
The Hoops defender was shown a straight red card in Saturday's 1-0 win over Inverness in the Scottish Premier League.
It was Majstorovic's last-man challenge on Jonny Hayes which referee Steven McLean deemed to be worthy of a sending off.
The SFA confirmed they have received a fast-track appeal on the grounds of "wrongful dismissal for denying the opposing team a goal or obvious goal scoring opportunity".
The Swedish centre-back has been a mainstay in the Celtic defence so far this campaign, making 23 appearances at the heart of the back four.
The case will be heard by an SFA fast-track tribunal on Thursday, 16 February.
