Crawley Town manager Steve Evans has backed new signing Billy Clarke to fill the void left by Matt Tubbs.
Evans gave a debut to striker Clarke in the 4-2 win over Cheltenham on Tuesday night.
Crawley are still coming to terms with the transfer of top scorer Tubbs to Bournemouth for £800,000, but Evans feels Clarke will waste no time settling in.
He said: "Billy did everything but score and he'll only get better.
"I didn't want to sell Tubbs and Clarke has huge boots to fill, but he's a real welcome addition and a player who I'm sure will do well for us."
