Smith: Wants better home form
Walsall boss Dean Smith is eager to get more supporters behind the club by urging his players to improve their poor home form.
The Saddlers have won just three league games at the Banks's Stadium this season and Smith insists the onus is on his squad to rouse the supporters into creating a better atmosphere.
His side host Colchester on Saturday knowing a win could lift them out of the npower League One relegation zone.
He told the Express and Star: "West Brom got beaten at the weekend and I read some comments from Roy Hodgson saying the players need to win the fans back again and get them behind them. We're the same at the moment.
"I don't think it's about regaining the trust and faith, though. They know the lads are putting the effort in but at times the quality hasn't been there.
"Last season was a little different with the desperation and we were all in it together. What we've got to make sure now is we do it on the pitch. Then the crowd will get behind us and make it into an atmosphere."
