New Vitesse signing Mike Havenaar says he 'can only get better' after setting up the winning goal against NAC Breda on his debut start for the club.
The Japan international, who arrived at the Eredivisie side last month from native outfit Ventforet Kofu, set up Nicky Hofs' winner on Saturday as Vitesse triumphed 1-0.
That assist followed his maiden goal last weekend in the 3-1 defeat to leaders PSV Eindhoven.
Striker Havenaar said after the game: "I can only get better from here on.
"Once my team-mates and I figure each other out, I'll start to fit more into the team."
The 24-year-old was delighted to get his first start for Vitesse under his belt before being replaced on 81 minutes.
He added: "It means a lot that I started and played more than 80 minutes."
