Mark Hughes: Rangers manager doing his sums to see if they add up

QPR boss Mark Hughes is already calculating if his team will get enough points to stay in the Premier League.

Hughes admitted he usually waits until the final 10 games before predicting where teams will finish but has found himself adopting this policy earlier.

Rangers are just three points above the drop zone as they prepare to face Wolves on Saturday and he knows his team have to start getting points now.

Difficult

"We are in a period of games where we hope to bring in a decent haul," said Hughes.

"It is important we do it now because we have difficult games, on paper, ahead of us.

"Normally, once you get to about 10 games to go you can put a few sheets up with the fixtures on."

Judgement

He added: "My assistant manager likes to do it, we've done it when we've been around the bottom but more often than not we have done it with the teams around us in the top half.

"You can look and see the difficulty of the fixtures and try and make a considered judgement on what your opponents' likely points total is and compare it to your own.

"Teams around us are never going to give us easy games."
