Colchester captain Kemal Izzet has revealed his desire to pen a new contract with the club.
The midfielder, whose current deal expires in the summer, admits he is yet to speak to the U's about fresh terms but is set to do so next month. "I'm contracted until the end of the season, I'd love to have another contract here but we're not talking at the moment," he told U's Player. "We'll talk in February, see what comes in and what goes out, and then come February we'll sit down and have a chat and hopefully get something sorted." The 31-year-old, signed from Charlton in 2001, returned to Colchester's starting XI in Saturday's 1-0 victory at Leyton Orient.
