Sky Sports understands that Peterborough have made a £1.9million bid for Crawley Town pair Tyrone Barnett and Kyle McFadzean.
The performances of striker Barnett and defender McFadzean have been central to Crawley's success this season, with Steve Evans' side flying high in League Two and moving through to the last 16 of the FA Cup.
Their good form has not gone unnoticed, though, and it is thought that Peterborough have identified Barnett and McFadzean as players who could strengthen their squad.
An offer of nearly £2million is believed to have been lodged to try and test Crawley's resolve, and it remains to be seen if they are successful before Tuesday's 11pm deadline.
Darren Ferguson's Peterborough currently occupy 17th place in the Championship standings following a run of five games without a win.
