Hughton hopes to land Scot, but Swansea reluctant to let him leave
Sky Sports understands Birmingham City have made an enquiry to sign Swansea forward Stephen Dobbie.
Dobbie has struggled to hold down a regular place in the Swansea side this season, making just nine appearances.
Swansea boss Brendan Rodgers revealed earlier this month he was assessing whether his squad has enough strength in depth to allow Dobbie to leave on loan.
Bristol City and Dobbie's former club Blackpool are also thought to be keen on signing the Scot on loan, however, Birmingham are pushing to try and strike a deal to bring the player to St Andrew's.
Blues boss Chris Hughton is keen to bolster his squad as he looks to maintain their push for promotion, but lack of finances means he could only bring Dobbie in on loan with a view to a permanent deal.
Swansea are reluctant to lose Dobbie and it remains to be seen if they will be willing to let the player depart before the close of the transfer window on Tuesday night.
