Miles Addison has returned to Derby for the second half of the Championship season following his loan spell with rivals Barnsley.

Addison has been with the Tykes since the start of the campaign but will now go back to the Rams, who travel to Oakwell on Tuesday night.

The versatile 23-year-old, who can play in central defence or midfield, trained with his parent club on Monday.

However, Derby boss Nigel Clough feels the cover provided by Jake Buxton and Tom Naylor in defence, as well as the loan addition of Tom Carroll in midfield, could make it difficult for Addison to force his way back into the first-team squad.

"Miles is back with us and we will see how things are with him," Clough told the club's official website.

"Unfortunately we are well covered at centre-back and also in midfield at the moment so it is difficult to see where we will get him in right now."
