Sky Sports understands Bournemouth are poised to sign Crawley Town striker Matt Tubbs.
Bournemouth have been chasing Tubbs for some time and had an initial bid for the player rejected earlier this month.
Tubbs has attracted the interest of a host of clubs following his goalscoring exploits for Crawley.
The 27-year-old caught the eye last season as he helped fire Crawley to the Blue Square Premier title and he has carried that fine form into this term in League Two.
Tubbs has netted 18 goals this season, including winners against Bristol City and Hull City in the FA Cup.
The prolific forward did take in a loan spell at Bournemouth in 2008, but struggled to produce his best.
However, it seems Tubbs is set for a second chance with Cherries boss Lee Bradbury making him his top target in this month's transfer window.
