Inter Milan coach Claudio Ranieri has underlined his wish that Thiago Motta remains with the Nerazzurri.
Motta has previously hinted that he could leave Inter and join big-spending Paris St Germain before the end of the January transfer window.
The midfielder's contract with the Serie A giants expires next summer and the Nerazzurri have yet to offer him an extension.
But Ranieri insists he wants to keep the 29-year-old as he seeks to guide his side up the Serie A table.
"I've asked the club, Thiago Motta will stay", Ranieri told Sky Italia after his side lost 1-0 at Lecce on Sunday.
"As for what I know, he will remain with us," he added.
