Sone Aluko: Predicts SPL title race will go down to the wire
Sone Aluko insists Rangers have to focus on themselves after predicting the SPL title race will go down to the wire.
The winger was on the scoresheet on Saturday as the reigning Scottish champions claimed a 4-0 win over Hibernian at Ibrox to haul themselves back to within a point of leaders Celtic.
Despite playing a game more, Aluko insists it is too early to write off Ally McCoist's men just yet.
He said: "We have to just focus on ourselves and trying to keep winning games.
"We can't really focus on what they're doing. They have to try to win games the same as us. As long as we win our games and do what we can do, hopefully in the end it will be enough.
"When we had a big gap, people were writing off Celtic. That's what people are going to do, it creates good stories.
"I think it will go down to the wire and hopefully we have enough to win the league."
Earned plaudits
Skipper Steven Davis grabbed a double and David Healy was also on the scoresheet in the win but it was Aluko who earned the plaudits with an impressive strike from a free-kick to cap a man-of-the-match performance.
He added: "I was happy with the result and I thought I contributed to the game.
"As a team it was a very good result and to win 4-0 at home is what the fans want to see. I thought I did well and I thought the team did well.
"It's always nice to score a goal, especially when the team wins because that's important. I was happy with the goal."
