Sky Sports understands Sheffield United defender Johannes Ertl is a target for German side 1860 Munich.
The 29-year-old is back to full fitness after recovering from a cruciate knee ligament injury he suffered last March.
The Austria international returned to action in December, starting the FA Cup win over Salisbury and also making four substitute appearances in League One.
Ertl is out of contract at the end of the season and the news has alerted 1860 Munich to his possible availability.
The former Crystal Palace man is highly regarded in Austria and Germany having played for Austria Vienna and Sturm Graz before making the move to England in 2008.
Ertl is thought to be keen on staying in England as he is settled in the country and is hoping to win a new deal at Sheffield United, but if he fails to agree a new contract he could decide to move on with 1860 reportedly waiting in the wings to offer him a move to Germany.
