Morecambe have signed striker Jack Redshaw from Altrincham for an undisclosed fee after he impressed the club on trial.
The 21-year-old has signed an 18-month contract with the Shrimps and manager Jim Bentley says he is delighted to have secured the services of the young striker.
The former Manchester City forward impressed on trial last week and scored twice for the reserves in their 4-1 win at Tranmere.
Bentely told the club's official website: "Jack is a player with great potential. He may only be small but he is strong and quick and has a real eye for goal. He has a good attitude and I am really looking forward to working with him. He is definitely one for the future and a lot of clubs were interested in signing him so I am delighted that he has chosen us.
"Altrincham FC and their manager Lee Sinnott have been very understanding and have been keen to help Jack progress his career .''
