Nice coach Rene Marsiglia has confirmed they are in discussions to sign Elliott Grandin from Blackpool.
The 27-year-old has made just seven appearances for Ian Holloway's side this season and has managed to net two goals in the process.
He signed for the Tangerines in August 2010 on a two-year contract with the option of a further year, but is now poised to return to his homeland.
"There are only a few details to sort out, but I am eager to sign him," Marsiglia told L'Equipe.
"With my experience, I know it is not good when these things last too long."
Grandin has fallen down the pecking order this term as Holloway has increased his attacking options with the signing of Kevin Phillips, Lomana LuaLua and the emergence of Matt Phillips.
He made 24 appearances last year while the Seasiders enjoyed their rollercoaster campaign in the Premier league.
Grandin, who is a former France Under-21 international, has previously played for Caen, Marseille and Grenoble in Ligue 1.
