Sky Sports sources understand the Football Association will take no further action regarding Stoke striker Peter Crouch's apparent 'eye poke' on West Brom's Jonas Olsson.

England international Crouch was caught on camera gouging his hand across the face of the Baggies centre-back during his club's defeat at the Britannia Stadium on Saturday.

The incident was missed by referee Anthony Taylor and the FA earlier on Tuesday was examining the pictures before deciding whether or not to issue a retrospective charge.

Crouch could have been facing a three-match ban, but the governing body has decided not to give the former Portsmouth, Liverpool and Tottenham player any case to answer.

The decision is understood to be based on confirmation to the FA from Taylor that he would not have issued a red card if had he seen the incident during the match.
