Stockley hails Cherries crop

Jayden Stockley thinks Bournemouth's current squad is the most accomplished group of players he has seen during his time at Dean Court.

Striker Stockley, 18, has been a part of the first-team squad for the last two-and-a-half years, and saw the Cherries reach the League One play-offs last term. But he still believes this year's crop, who now lie two points off the top six, is even better. "We're on the up. We've got the best squad we've had since I've been here and it's great to be involved in it," he told Press Association Sport. "Years ago we had the transfer embargo and we were short of players, it was a small squad and everyone knew their place in the team. "Now there's a real competition for places in the starting XI and everyone has to keep on their toes if they want to be playing every week. That can only be good for the club and I'm enjoying it."
