On-loan defender Scott Wootton has left Peterborough and returned to parent club Manchester United.
Wootton joined Posh in the summer, and had been due to spend the whole season at London Road.
But that deal has now been cut short after the 20-year-old decided he was not playing enough games.
"It is a joint decision," Peterborough manager Darren Ferguson told the club's official website.
He added: "I had a chat with Scott and he felt he wasn't really playing enough games, so I was happy to let him go back to Old Trafford,".
Wootton made 14 appearances during his spell at the Championship club.
