Cup-tied Roo itching to play

New signing Luke Rooney is frustrated not be able to feature in Swindon's cup exploits over the course of the next month.

However, the winger has suggested a trip to Wembley would dispel his disappointment. Rooney, who arrived from Gillingham last week, is cup-tied for the Robins' FA Cup clash with Leicester on Saturday and the visit of Barnet in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy area final second leg on February 7. However, the winger is hopeful his new team-mates will ease his pain of missing out by sealing progress to the JPT final. "That's very disappointing that I can't play in the cup competitions," he said. "It would be nice to play them (Leicester) because they're in a higher division and if we were to beat them then you wait to see who you get in the next round. "Even more so with the Johnstone's Paint because we're one game away from Wembley and that would have been lovely to experience. "But I'm sure they'll be some room on the coach to Wembley and experience it, even though I won't be on the pitch which is disappointing."
