Sky Sports sources understand Millwall are set to complete the signing of free agent Craig Beattie after his release by Swansea.
The striker was on the lookout for a new club after seeing the remainder of his Swans deal cancelled by mutual consent.
The 28-year-old Scottish hit-man's contract was due to expire in the summer, but Swansea have allowed him to leave early.
Beattie was the club's record signing having joined from West Brom in 2009 and he scored seven goals in 45 Championship appearances.
Millwall targeted Beattie after missing out on Danny Haynes, who joined Charlton, while youngster Josh McQuoid has been loaned to Burnley.
It remains to be seen whether Beattie will sign in time to make his Lions debut in Saturday's Championship trip to Barnsley.
