Accrington captain Andy Procter has joined Preston for an undisclosed fee to help boost the club's bid for place in the play-offs.
The 28-year-old joined the Reds from neighbours Great Harwood almost 10 years ago and has gone on to make 416 appearances for the club, putting him second on the club's all-time appearances list.
Procter will join the Lilywhites on an initial loan deal to allow him to feature against Leyton Orient on Saturday before completing the permanent switch on Monday.
He becomes the second player to join on Friday after striker Chris Holroyd signed on an undisclosed fee from Rotherham.
