Sky Sports sources understand Cheltenham Town are set to win the race for Aldershot Town midfielder Jermaine McGlashan.
The talented 23-year-old is on the verge of signing a two-and-a-half-year contract and boosting the high-flying Robins' push for League Two promotion.
McGlashan was last weekend a member of the Aldershot team who lost to Cheltenham, but his performance underlined his ability to boss Mark Yates.
A deal will be a significant acquisition for the Cheltenham manager after fighting off competition from League two rivals Gillingham.
Yates' men sit second in the table and it will be hoped McGlashan can help in the battle for the title with leaders Southend United and third-placed Crawley Town.
