Rovers have moved for Cottagers striker

Steve Kean is of the firm belief Blackburn will be busy during the January transfer window, confirming they have bid for Andy Johnson. Rovers have yet to bring in a fresh face to Ewood Park this month, although they have made an attempt to land the Fulham striker. The Scot has refused to confirm where negotiations are regarding Johnson, stating talks will remain private. Blackburn have been linked with the likes of David Beckham and Ronaldinho in the past and Kean is unwilling to divulge all the names on his wanted list. Question marks have been raised regarding the level of funds Venky's are happy investing and Kean insists the club are being 'very, very active' this month.

Active

"I think we can be active in this window," he told Sky Sports. "I think it's been quite slow for a number of clubs and we're one of them. "I think it's going to pick up pace. We've done it in the past where we've mentioned names and then when they've been slow or we've been refused permission to get them in it's come back to haunt us a little bit. "So we'd like to do our business as much as we can under the radar. We've been very active, myself, the directors and the owners. We've had extensive lists and got bids. "We don't want to say to who, and how many and for how much. But the fans can rest assured we're being very, very active in this window. We're hopeful we can bring new faces in." Kean confirmed the club's bid for Johnson adding: "We respect Fulham and we don't want to disclose what level that's at. That will remain private between the two clubs. That's one name. "There are another four or five names we're actively trying to pursue. As you know you can have the biggest list in the world, but when you knock on the door of another club and you ask if they're available sometimes they say no. And you've got to respect that and move on."
