Sky Sports understands Peterborough United have offered Paul Taylor a new long-term contract to ward off interest in the forward.
Taylor has created a big impression at London Road since joining Posh last year and he has scored six goals in 24 Championship appearances this season.
His performances for Darren Ferguson's side have led to Premier League clubs taking an interest in the former non-league attacker.
The 24-year-old's contract currently expires in 2013, but Peterborough are determined to hang on to Taylor for the long term.
It is understood that Posh have put the offer of a new long-term deal to Taylor as Ferguson aims to keep his key players at the club.
