Reid aiming to fend off interest from MK Dons in striker

Hamilton Academical manager Billy Reid is hoping striker Dougie Imrie will not be leaving the club in the January transfer window. Imrie has already been the subject of a failed bid from Dundee United, with the SPL side insisting they will not be increasing their offer. League One club MK Dons have been mooted as favourites to land Imrie, but Reid is eager to keep the forward after his impressive display in Tuesday's Scottish Cup replay against St Mirren. "We are used to it, we have lost influential players before and it's just the way it is at the football club," said Reid. "I don't have any say in it. If Dougie goes, we need to just go and build again. "I don't want Dougie Imrie to leave. That would be crazy with how he is playing at the moment. "He is one of our most influential forward players so why would you want him to leave?" Keep up to date with all the latest transfer news on Sky Sports News and Sky Sports News Radio .
