Magpies swoop for Freeman

Notts County have signed Nottingham Forest defender Kieron Freeman on a one-month emergency loan deal.

The Wales Under-21 international made his senior bow in the Carling Cup earlier this season, after coming through the Forest academy. Freeman has previously picked up experience out on loan at Mansfield, where he impressed over nine starts at left-back. He will add depth to the Magpies' defence with Julian Kelly (calf), Krystian Pearce (groin) and Alan Sheehan (suspended) all currently out of action. The 19-year-old will remain at Meadow Lane until Saturday, February 11.
