Sky Sports sources understand Hull City are set to boost their goalkeeping options by signing Trevor Carson on loan from Sunderland.
The Tigers are currently short on goalkeeping cover at the KC Stadium and last week re-signed Vito Mannone on loan from Arsenal.
Newly-appointed permanent manager Nick Barmby is now looking to add another shot-stopper to his squad and has lined up a move for Carson.
The 23-year-old has yet to make a senior appearance for Sunderland, but has previously undertaken loan spells at Brentford, Lincoln City and Chesterfield.
He also made eight appearances on loan at League One side Bury earlier this season and could join the Tigers in time to be involved in Saturday's Championship game against Peterborough United.
