Whites part with academy graduate

Will Hatfield has agreed to the mutual termination of his contract at Leeds United, allowing him to start looking for a new club. The Whites announced on Thursday that the youngster has left Elland Road after accepting that his career would be better served elsewhere. The 20-year-old is a product of Leeds' academy system and was tipped for a bright future as he made his way through the youth ranks. Having made the step up into the reserve side, he captained the second string to title success in 2010. The first-team door remained locked, though, and he was unable to make that breakthrough. He was able to take in senior action during a loan spell at York last season, before going on to spend time with Accrington this term. Hatfield is now hoping to find a new employer as quickly as possible, allowing him to enjoy a productive second half to the 2011/12 campaign.
